Figure illustrates a typical magnetic installation in a Champ.

The detectors are mounted in a light and strong non-magnetic boom, which is approximatly the same height as the hood. The metal parts on the hood are made of brass.

The positions of the Driver's Repeater and the Navigator's Map Reference

Indicator are dictated by the positions of the two crew members in the vehicle.

Access to the Computer is not required very often and therefore this item can be located anywhere.

The normal stowage of rifles, shovel, pick, wireless sets does not affect Compass accuracy.

Power requirement of Computor is 3 amps at 24 volts d.c.
