From R to L:
85 BE 68: Chassis WN1-8568
03 BF 34/HNK 309 L [Hertfordshire 1972] : [Desert Colour] This one is made upas 78 BE 40. Why ? Here's the answer: In 1976 the then owner a Mr Bristowe from Hertfordshire contacted me, he wanted to know how a Champ looked at Suez in 1956. I gave him the details of my 78 BE 40. He then used 78 BE 40 as it's military Reg !! He found this Champ in a field in 1972, with no wheels, no bonnet and painted purple.
It's actual Chassis No is 10334,
WO Reg: 03 BF 34. Engine: 3367.
DiS: 26/9/55, sold at RUD on 22/11/66 lot 586 ml. The Ministry of Supply Plate was missing, only the Austin Plate was there.
History: 17 Training Brigade Royal Artillery.
Second from left,.Now to complicate things: There is a report of WN1-10538, WO Reg: 05 BF 38, engine 62263 in Sussex using the Civ Reg: HNK 309 L ???!!! [1990's] This one DiS: 12/55, S/O: Branston 14/9/67, sold: Rud 14/2/68 lot 1286. To make it even more complicated it also carries the Chassis plates for 4373, 43 BE 73 ??!! Confused ?
