John M:
I have seen this one before but with different markings. HQ Div REME 5 Div BAOR 1959.

This looks like HQ Div RASC 5 Div BAOR 1958.  I think we have 40 on blue/yellow. The sign on the body side could be RASC. The fact that this vehicle has full sidescreens in BAOR indicates senior officer use. It could be CO of 5 Div RASC.  The vehicle is fitted with a radio and the C8 on bridge plate indicates Combined Weight 8 [With trailer].

Note:  40 on RASC blue/yellow colours [If this is the unit sign] indicates HQ Division RASC, in this case HQ 5 Division RASC.   One Truck 1/4 Ton 4x4 CT/GS FFW/FFR was issued to HQ Division RASC for use by the CO, a Lieutenant-Colonel.   This unit commanded and administered 2 to 5 transport companies RASC [Depending on theatre of operation, war etc..]   From 1956, divisions lost their armoured or infantry designation after it was decided that a mixture of armour and infantry worked better. This resulted in the new idea of the brigade group [Infantry and armour together]. However, it was not until 1958 that armoured and infantry divisions became just divisions. During 1958, the 6 Armoured Division was disbanded and the 7 Armoured Division became the 5 Division.   The same was not true of brigade groups, you still had armoured brigade group [Ie: 7 arm Bde Grp] and infantry brigade groups [Ie: 11 Inf Bde Grp]. The diference was armoured had 3 x armoured regiments and 1 x infantry battalion and the infantry had the reverse.

This Champ is serving with HQ 5 Division in BAOR which existed between 1958 and 1960. It had replaced 7 Armoured Division and was replaced by 1 Division.   HQ Armoured Division RASC controlled 3 x Armoured Division Transport Companies RASC [Unit numbers were 81, 82 and 83 on blue/yellow] and 1 x Armoured Division Troop Carrying Company RASC [Unit number was 84 on blue/yellow].   HQ Infantry Division RASC controlled 4 x Infantry Division Transport Companies [Unit numbers were 70, 71, 72 and 73 on blue/yellow].   During 1959, the various RASC companies came under control of the brigade group they supported and change the unit sign to 21 on blue/yellow.
