| History: |
Photo of the vehicle in sand paint scheme supplied by John Walker when for sale again in May 2010. Sold on e-bay in October 2009 when located in Derby. Bought by John Walker. Markings: This was used in BAOR and under n/s headlight is what looks like
6th Inf Bde Grp sign. Due to the TA signs on bonnet which have a connection with
Edinburgh, I think the BAOR unit was:
1st Bn The Seaforth Highlanders [Ross-Shire Buffs-The Duke of Albany's],
6th Inf Bde Grp, 2nd Div BAOR 1959/60.
Unit number was 9 on red [Not 100% sure on this]
The above battalion moved to Edinburgh to merge with 1st Bn The Queen's Own Highlanders to form 1st Bn Queen's Own Highlanders [Seaforth and Camerons] on 7/2/61. The new battalion moved to Borneo from Edinburgh during April 61. The markings on bonnet and rear bumpers are:
278th [Lowland] [City of Edinburgh Artillery], 52nd [Lowland] Div [TA]
1961-67.
