 History:

Jimmy contacted the Register in August 2007:"  I believe I've found an Austin Champ in my back yard. The vehicle number is 8276 which would make it the very last of it's series in your registry. I'm having to clean out my property because I've moved to town. This has been on my property since I purchased the land about 15 years ago. Please contact me about sending you photos and also if you know anyone that would be interested in purchasing it."

John M: "You are correct, you have the very last Truck 1/4 Ton 4x4 Combat Chassis WN1-8276."

Note: "CITY OF DURHAM" stencilled on the dash.

An in-service  photo of this vehicle exists but is copyright of Champ News.  Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers Light Aid Detachment with 1st [British] Corps British Army Of the Rhine in Bielefeld, West Germany
