Chassis Number WN1 3995

Location:
Hyden, Western Australia.

Owner:
Ken Smith

History:
Ken bought this Champ (3995) from Archie Marshall in about 1967 for $500. It was used on the farm as a runabout until about tenyears ago. It is in fairly good condition considering the abuse it has suffered although there is a lot of rust starting to get a hold on it and there is a bit of accident damage around the rear. There are a couple of interesting things about this vehicle. Firstly it's bridging limit plate on the front shows the number 2, every Champ photo I have ever seen when the numbers were painted on have had a 3 and that is also the limit specified in the User Handbook. Secondly it has an original set of British Army number plates still fitted. The front one is unreadable but the rear one reads 72BE23 and not 39BE95 as it should. Ken says he has never changed the plate so who knows what's going on there.

Thanks to Rod Diery from Rockets Champ Page for the photos and information about 3995
