Brief History
Rod Diery's two Champs as he found them in the vehicle impound yard at the Police Station at Dumbleyung, WA at Easter 1992. The green vehicle in front is 3531 and is the vehicle that he is currently restoring. The grey one at the back was 5927. It had been heavily modified and had a lot of parts missing. It was eventually scrapped after robbing it of as many parts as it was thought would be useful in 3531"s restoration. He purchased the pair for from a school teacher in Newman in the north of WA who had previously been posted to Dumbleyung. As with most WA Champs, they were ex British Army purchased under 6/VEH/5531. They probably came to WA in about 1967 as part of a large batch (I wish we could find how many) obtained by a Perth car dealer named Archie Marshall.
