These pics of Bob Henderson's WN1 1898. were supplied by Rod Diery of Rockets
Champ Page fame, he also supplied this text, thanks Rod.
This Champ is almost of concourse quality and it absolutely shines.
Even so I have seen it covered in mud and he takes it out on every
club run going and every weekend as well.
As you can see, the engine is not painted in original style but
it is very effective done this way. The engine colour is actually
the Detroit Diesel colour which the Army uses on the 6V53 engines
in M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers. This colour is actually a
little more green than the ordinary Champ engine colour. Bob has
also buffed all the brass fitting under his bonnet to a bright
shine. I think it looks great but I wouldn't have the patience
to do it myself.
Even though Bob's Champ is a cargo version, he has still fitted
radios to it. The radios shown are apparently a genuine British
Army radio suite for the Champ. . -- Rod Diery--
