Baz contacted the Register in July 2010 providing the photo top left saying:" Attached a couple of pics of Champ 15BE45 leaving my house this morning for the crusher. Pity, but I got everything I needed from it. It has an early Rolls made engine but someone took the head of a few years ago and left it off. Not worth the work now."

Was Bob Dimer of Forrestfield, Western Australia who bought the vehicle in 2009 and found the identity plate, shown in the photo, mounted on a block of wood on the left hand side. John M: "NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND IT LOOKS VERY MUCH LIKE NICE, BUT FAKE PLATE. IE: NOT WD. [A] IT SAYS GS [GENERAL SERVICE]. THIS WOULD DATE IT TO AFTER 1958. [B] IT SAYS "CHAMP", NO MENTION OF THIS NAME IN WD UNTIL DISPOSALS. [C] IT STATES "51", AS A DATE. THIS IS FALSE, AS CHAMPS WERE NOT MADE UNTIL 52 AND THIS ONE DID NOT ENTER SERVICE UNTIL 1953. [D] IT STATES No1 MK 2A4. AGAIN, WRONG AS THE ENGINE IN THIS ONE IS A MK5A.
